The Devdoot™ shop · Parts and suppliers

Robot skills now move from one machine to another. The hard part is the hardware: magnets, motors, gears, sensors, chips and batteries. We connect robot builders with the companies that make those parts, and help them see how much of a robot is made here.

Why it matters now

The 65% line.

Since July 28, 2026, the FCC no longer authorizes new models of foreign-produced mobile robots that are connected, sense their surroundings, navigate on their own and weigh more than 2 kg (4.4 lb), dock included.

A robot avoids the rule only if it is manufactured in the United States and more than 65% of its component cost is domestic, a line planned to rise to 75% in 2029. Assembling imported parts here is not enough.

Models authorized before July 28, 2026 can still be sold. Fixed industrial arms, drones, vehicles and medical devices fall outside this rule. A plain summary, not legal advice.

The directory

What a robot is made of.

Rare-earth magnets

Neodymium magnets inside nearly every robot motor.

The single most concentrated part of the chain: most of the world's supply is made in one country.

Motors and actuators

Brushless motors, servos and complete joint actuators with driver and encoder.

The muscle of every robot, and usually the largest share of its component cost.

Suppliers: listing open
Gears and reducers

Strain wave (harmonic), cycloidal and planetary gearboxes.

Precision reducers set how strong and how accurate each joint is, and few plants make them.

Suppliers: listing open
Force, touch and motion sensors

Force-torque sensors, tactile skins, encoders and IMUs.

What a robot feels with. Our trust layer depends on these readings agreeing with each other.

Suppliers: listing open
Cameras and depth sensors

Cameras, stereo and time-of-flight depth, LiDAR.

Perception hardware; on a mobile robot it is also one of the parts the FCC rule looks at.

Suppliers: listing open
Chips and compute boards

Edge AI modules, microcontrollers, motor-driver and radio chips.

The robot's brain and nerves; also where its network connectivity comes from.

Suppliers: listing open
Batteries and power

Battery packs, battery management, chargers and docks.

Packs and cells are a large cost line, and the dock counts toward the robot's weight under the rule.

Suppliers: listing open
Frames, castings and machining

Machined and cast structure, 3D-printed parts, cable harnesses.

The easiest part to make locally, and a quick way to raise a robot's domestic share.

A quick estimate only, not a legal or FCC determination. Commercially available off-the-shelf items are treated differently, and whether a part counts as domestic follows federal procurement rules. Ask counsel before relying on it. Nothing you type here is sent anywhere.

New parts, same skills

New parts, checked.

Swap a motor, a gearbox or a sensor for a domestic one and the same skill behaves a little differently. The Devdoot™ trust layer, patent pending, makes a robot say “I can’t do that safely” or “I don’t know” instead of a confident wrong “Done”, whatever parts it is built from.
